Curran T. needs electronic copies of any handouts and presentations from roundtable
meetings so they can be forwarded to Viola to be put on the IBCC website.
The IBCC will be giving sponsorships for roundtable members to take the S. Platte River
tour this summer, more information will be available later when the details come out.
Carl T: said the roundtable should view the DVD from Marylou Smith (Citizens Guide
to Water Law) at one of the upcoming meetings. Curran has the DVD.
Update on Walden Tusk OrdeN Request:
Hal Simpson, CDM
The Final Report: water demands summary, surface water rights summary, groundwater
rights summary, options for improving reliability and meeting future demands.
Review of options, planning level cost estimate (not detailed):
1. New collection gallery for HiHo Ditch Water right: $170,800
2. Decree two town wells as alternate points of diversion for the HiHo ditch water right:
$22,000
3. Rehabilitate the current diversion stn~cture for the HiHo ditch water right: $135,500
4. Walden Reservoir Storage: $499,000
5. Enhance Walden's Groundwater Supply: $241,000
6. New Storage Rights and Reservoir: $1,021,000
7. Rehabilitate the Town's original diversion near the water treatment plant: $142,000
8. Trade shares of Walden Reservoir for Equal storage in Meadow Creek reservoir:
$39,000
Reconullendations:
The town should consider the risk of going to court for all the options. Maybe combine
option 1 and 2.
CDM reconunends: new collection gallery #1, decree wells #2, eiillance groundwater
supply #5, total cost $433,800.
Next Step:
CDM will work with the town to put together an application.
Hal S: the town should probably apply for basin funds, he's not sure this will meet state
criteria.

Carl T: offered to have roundtable members give advice to the Walden town board if
they would like roundtable advice
Dirk R: the Town would like to put together a work session date to address this, possibly
April 9t1i time and location to be determined.
