North Platte Roundtable Meeting Minutes, 03.25.08
Todd D: we were in conulluiucation leading up to the meeting. Now we need to focus
on how to move this forward.
John R: can Todd provide an example of a project that was denied and came back for a
later cycle of fiinding?
Todd D: Rio Grande conservation easement project, application by the Rio Grande
Headwaters Trust. They were denied and had to re-submit.
Discussion about the various options, and the pros and cons of option 1 vs. 2 vs. 3.
Kent C: has there been any negotiation between CSU and CNHI' since this decision?
We as a roundtable can make our decision now about which options we prefer, but we
don't have all the information.
Discussion about non-consumptive needs assessment 18 month deadline.
Debbie A: did CWCB discuss the scope of work issues?
Todd D: the scope did not clearly define what the project was, didn't get a clear idea of
how CNHI' was going to do their work, describing the GIS deliverable task was unclear,
for example. Scope can stand to be shored up some. For $200,000 they should clearly
define what they are going to do. He will work with applicant to get all of these
shortcomings taken care of. Concept is worthwhile; the details need to be explained.
Kent C: to hit September CWCB meeting, CNHI' will have to come to our June meeting.
Carl's and Kent's recommendation as IBCC members was for CNHI' to go and resubmit
the application at the September CWCB meeting.
Discussion
Barb V: Made a motion to have CNHI' re-submit at the N. Platte's June 17ti' meeting, to
be in time for the CWCB September meeting.
Tom Hackleman: seconded the motion
Motion passed
Barb V will notify Denise from CNHI' that she will have to resubmit at the N. Platte June
meeting.
Meeting dates were discussed. We cannot use this room after hours unless there is a
forest service employee here. Mike Alpe assured us someone could be here for the
meetings if they were to be from 7-9 pm during the summer.
Education Liaison Report:
Curran T. gave an education liaison report.
The IBCC website is still open to content changes. N. Platte roundtable members, please
look at our section of the site and see if you suggest any additions/edits of our content.
Report changes to Curran.
The roundtable should require regular updates from the Grant recipients on project
progress. Curran asked about press releases and updates, and what the roundtable wanted
to do about these two issues. If the roundtable wants to have a pilot project, they will
need to decide how to handle these public outreach areas.
