7.1.4.2 FPS-77
CRMWD will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the
FPS-77 radar located at the Big Spring Municipal Airport. Some radar data
will be recorded on a form (Fig. 7.1.4.2.1) designed for the purpose.
These data are shown on the form. RHI scope data will be recorded by
the use of a polaroid camera with each photograph being properly annotated
for identification. Information such as azimuth, range, date, time, and
iso-echo data will be recorded on the back of each photograph. A remote
PPI scope will be recorded by use of a 16 rom camera with every other
revolution photographed. When the radar is in a continuous scan n~de
(elevation of antenna near zero and range of 60 NM) the PPI scope will be
photographed at approximately 30-sec intervals. Data for all scopes
for a given cloud will be recorded at approximately 2-min intervals.
Mr. Girdzus will man the radar. He will be assisted by Mr. Bob
Riggio and Mr. Bill Alexander of the Texas Department of Water
Resources as the need arises.

7.1.5 Aircraft
7 . 1. 5. 1 C~1D
CRMI'lD will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the
Aztec and Navajo aircraft which this organization provides for use in the
field program. All cloud physics data collected by CRMWD aircraft: will
be provided to MRI for subsequent processing and documentation.
7.1.5.2 MRI

MRI will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the
Navajo cloud physics aircraft, checkout of the cloud physics instrumenta-
tion on CRMWD's Aztec, and for the processing and documentation of all
cloud physics data collected by the MRI and CRMWD cloud physics aircraft
including IFR flight tracks. The aircraft data tapes will be sent: directly
to the Bureau of Reclamation immediately following collection of the
data. MRI will provide ice crystal concentrations and cloud liquid water
content in real time for the clouds sampled to the Project Director during
each flight.
7.1.5.3 Colorado International Corporation
The Colorado International Corporation will be responsible for the
maintenance and operation of the Lear Jet. They will also process the cloud
physics data in preparation for archiving, and provide the ice crystal
concentrations and cloud liquid water content in real time, if the computer

20
