Benton, <br />Associate Director, Agri- <br />cultural Experiment 8tation <br /> <br />This Committee was interested in two primary areas; <br />concentration of seeding efforts in dry sectors of the State, and termi- <br />nation of seeding operations in "wet" areas. Section 3.4 contains a <br />discussion of periods when seeding was completely or partially <br />restricted. <br /> <br />An integral part of every c loud seeding program within <br />the United States is the requirement by the National Oceanic and <br />Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for safeguards similar to those <br />mentioned above. The following is an excerpt from the NOAA form <br />"Initial Report of Weather Modification", submitted by CIC: <br /> <br />SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT <br /> <br />(a) Provisions for National Weather Service advisories. <br /> <br />CIC will monitor the local National Weather SE~rvice <br />advisories using the Lewes and Salisbury radio trans- <br />mission (162.40 and 162.55 mhz). eIe will bE! in <br />daily contact with the National Weather Service <br />Station at New Castle, Delaware. <br /> <br />A briefing will be scheduled for 10:20 a. m. daily to <br />obtain the Dulles upper air sounding and the outlook <br />for severe weather potential. <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />'. <br />
