Over Wolf Creek Pass neutral to quite weak convective in- <br /> <br />stability developed ahead of the front. The thermodynamic instability in- <br /> <br />creased behind the front. There were two high rates of precipitation. The <br /> <br />first one was associated with the neutral to weak embedded convective in- <br /> <br />stability ahead of the front and the other was directly associated ,,,ith the <br /> <br />frontal passage. Because of the strong horizontal pressure gradient, there <br /> <br />,,,as no blocking flow but rather the air moved up and over the San Juans at <br /> <br />all levels. <br />
