<br />Principal scientific uncertainties concern the complex <br />interactions of mountain topography, motion of moist air, <br />and the dispersion of seeding materials. <br /> <br />." <br /> <br />.~ <br /> <br />Effective application of the technology will establish <br /> <br />the necessary scientific, environmental, economic, and <br /> <br />legal background for public acceptance of an operational <br /> <br />program. <br /> <br />with this basic information and background developed <br />for weather modification, the public and planners can <br />make long-range decisions concerning Colorado Rive~ <br />resources. If the currently estimated yield potentials, <br />costs, and minimal environmental impacts are verified, <br />it is anticipated that weather modification will be one <br />of the major attractive alternatives to complement <br />other means in resolving water problems associated with <br />the Colorado River. <br /> <br />The proposed demonstration project is seen as the <br />necessary step between the pilot project now being <br />completed and the decisions concerning whether or not <br />to undertake a fully operational seeding program in the <br />Colorado River Basin. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2 <br />
