.

Some of the information for carrying out operations

will come from the National Weather Service, other

information will come from the Bureau's observational

network. All of this information will be stored

in the Bureau's Environmental Computer Network

where it will be processed for most effective

decisionmaking and evaluation.

~

Centralized forecasting and seeding decisions are

envisioned with remote controlled generators and real-time

data acquisition. Experience with te1emetery on the

pilot Project and use of the Environmental Computer

Network, plus recent solid-state instrumentation advances

and utilization of satellite observations, show that

centralized control is practical.

Seeding will be conducted during suitable periods,
regardless of time of day, provided:
(a) Prearranged suspension criteria for social
and environmental concerns are not in
effect, and
(b) No special suspensions are called for.

~

~

2l
