8. Management plan

Managing the broad range of analyses by a number of widely scat-

tered groups described in this plan will be the responsibility of the

Principal Scientist. One of his tasks will be to provide overall direc-

tion for the 1985 field program. He will also direct the cloud physics

and kinematics field experiments. His presence in the field will allow

him to assess better the nature and quality of the data collected and to

plan better the analysis and interpretation of these data.

After the field program has been completed, there will be three

formal meetings of the analysis groups. These meetings will take place

at the Utah Division of Water Resources on or about April 15, 1985, July

15, 1985, and October 15, 1985. The first meeting will be to review the

field program, confirm and assign priorities to analysis goals, deli-

neate analysis responsibilities, formalize requests for data, and address

problems of data availablility. The meeting in mid-July will be to

assess progress made thus far, to stimulate interaction of the par-

ticipants, and to review the analysis program as necessary. The last

meeting, in mid-October, will be to hear results of the analysis, to

receive a preliminary synopsis of the material to appear in the reports

of the various contractors and analysis groups, and to select material

for formal publication. In addition to these formal meetings, there

will be informal exchanges between the groups be letter and telephone

and in person concerning recent findings and matters of mutual

interest.
