4. Data availability

A data management plan is included in the 1985 Field Operations

Plan. The data management plan should result in the timely availabi-

Iity, to those involved in the analysis, of all kinds of data consistent

with adequate processing of the data by the groups which collected them.

On and after March 15, 1985 there should be available from NAWC

selected NWS synoptic data and from UU field logs and height-versus-time

displays of the lidar linear depolarization ratio. The displays should

also be available in the field in near real time.

On and after April 15, 1985 there should be available from NAWC

detailed rawinsonde data including skew T-Iog p diagrams, GOES satellite

imagery, local weather observations, and hygrothermograph and micro-

barograph records, from AI supercooled liquid water detector data tabu-

lations, from WPL radiometer and Ka-band radar field logs, and from DRI

field logs and color monitor video cassettes from the NCAR C-band

r ad ar .

On and after May 15, 1985 there should be available from NAWC half-

hourly precipitation amounts, from UU surface precipitation microphysics

data, from WPL radiometer and Ka-band radar data tapes and from NCAR/FOF

C-band radar data tapes. It is planned that the radar data tapes will

remain at WPL and NCAR in Boulder and be studied on the NCAR/FOF

Research Data Support System (RDSS).

In order to expedite the analysis formal data requests should be

made directly to the groups responsible as soon as data requirements are

known. A copy of the data request should be provided to the Principal

\
\~

)
~

~.

. ~~-.'

.

.

.

Scienti st. .

10

.
