The
success of conservation measures and programs depends on how the public responds
to the measures/programs. The more engaged the community is in altering their
behavior to conserve water, the more effective the conservation measures and
programs will be. Erie will continue to implement a public education program
educating the public on why and how they may conserve water.

It is also important to establish a means where feedback from the public on the
conservation measures and programs may be received. The public will have the
opportunity to provide input at Erie's water conservation open house on May 9, 2007,
through e-mail and mail correspondence, and through the annual board election
process. Additionally information on Erie's monitoring of the conservation program
(see Section 9.3) will be conveyed to the public on an annual basis. The public will
have an opportunity to provide feedback. This will help Erie incorporate community
values when making important water management decisions.

DRAFT

9-2

\\DENSVR1\PROJECTS\9228 - ERIE\CONSERVATION PLAN\REPORT\DRAFT PRIOR TO PUBLIC REVIEW\CONNIE FORMATTED\SECTION 9.DOC
