This program consists of
three levels of watering restrictions designed to limit water usage. Level III calls for
the highest amount of water savings and would only be required in times of
emergencies, whereas Levels I and II encourage conservation and enforce water
savings during a drought. Table 2-6 summarizes the water restriction levels.

Table 2.6 Water Restriction levels

Item level I level II level III
Landscape Watering- Lawn watering and drip Lawn watering allowed No lawn watering. Current water supply - This includes carryover water (water not used in one year
and stored for the following year) as well as current deliveries.

. Area wide assessment - Evaluate conservation efforts based on actions of
surrounding communities. This recognizes Erie's responsibility to surrounding
communities in being a proactive partner in water conservation.

. Raw water storage status - Amount of raw water stored in Erie's reservoirs.

. Potable water demand - Projected water demands taking into consideration
weather patterns.

. Potable water production - Water treatment capability and water quality.

DRAFT

2-8

\\DENSVR1\PROJECTS\9228 - ERIE\CONSERVATION PLAN\REPORT\DRAFT PRIOR TO PUBLIC REVIEW\CONNIE FORMATTED\SECTION 2.DOC
