evaluation process in Task 1.6

Task 1.6 - Evaluate and Select Conservation Measures and

Programs

Purpose

The activities described under this task evaluate and select the optimal conservation
measures and programs that Erie may implement.

Approach
The following items will be addressed and compiled in the Plan.

. Qualitatively evaluate each conservation measure/program identified in Task 1.5
and determine whether the measure/program should be eliminated or carried
forward into the next phase of the evaluation. If eliminated, provide reasoning of
why the measure/program is eliminated.

. Estimate water savings for the remaining measures/programs, where it is possible
to estimate savings with reasonable accuracy.

. Select the conservation measures/programs to be implemented in the Conservation
Plan and provide a qualitative discussion on why these measures/ savings were
selected.

Task 1.7 - Integrate Resources and Modify Forecasts

Purpose
The activities described under this task will provide information on how conservation
may affect Erie's future water demands and timing on when new water facilities may
be needed.

Approach
The following items will be addressed and compiled in the Plan.

. Compare water savings estimates provided in Task 1.6 with the Water
Conservation goals provided in Task 1.4.

. Provide a qualitative discussion on the benefits of conservation and how a
reduction in demands could influence the timing and size of new water facilities.

. Describe projected conservation and revenue effects.
