Main Tracks Temporary Relocation Alternative. An alternative to
temporarily relocated the main train track and install new culverts was
investigated. This would involve the temporary construction of 1,300
foot of new track, the construction of 240' of 144" CMP, demolition of
the existing culvert structure and replacement of the train track in it's
original position. The estimated construction cost for this alternative is
$1,151,443.

4. New Railroad Bridge Alternative. An alternative to construct a new
railroad bridge over Dry Creek and then demolish and remove the
existing five-barrel culvert structure was investigated. Construction of
the new bridge and removal of the existing culvert structure with
appropriate erosion protection installed in the Dry Creek channel is
estimated to cost $775,210. This is the recommended alternative.

The selected alternative would require BNSF Railroad approval during the design
phase of this project. Additionally SLRC would need to seek input from the City
of Greeley regarding construction in the proximity of the existing 42" raw water
pipeline. Other agencies including the City of Loveland, USACE, PUC and the
Water Quality Control Division will be contacted to assure that all necessary
permits are identified and acquired.

6

/
