<br />Application for Water Efficiency Grant Program: Colorado Watershed Network <br /> <br />partnering with the Colorado Water Conservation Board to promote water <br />conservation, and foster a respect for our limited water resources. The Colorado <br />Watershed Network and Project WET welcome your support and 'partnership as we <br />strive to increase the awareness, appreciation, understanding and stewardship of <br />Colorado's precious water resources. <br /> <br />2. List of organ,izations and/or individuals including those hired that will assist in <br />performing the "Project" and their role and contribution. <br /> <br />I. Colorado Watershed Network (CWN): <br />A. Overview: Project Sponsor. This agency \vill provide administration, supervision <br />and support for Project WET, the Project WET Coordinator, and the Regional <br />Water Education Specialist in Colorado. CWN will manage the project budget. <br />B. Colorado Project WET Coordinator: This position, housed at the Colorado <br />Watershed Net\vork, will participate as a leader in water education efforts <br />statewide and serve as a representative of Colorado at the national level. This <br />position will coordinate and support facilitator activities and provide water <br />education materials atld resources to educators throughout Colorado. <br />C. Regional Water Education Specialist: This new half-time position will work <br />with the Project WET Coordinator to develop sustainable partnerships to ensure <br />that teachers in Western Colorado have access to Project WET workshops and <br />water ed,ucation resources. Educatio'n Specialist will adapt materials to be locally <br />specific and relevant to water inW estern Colorado. <br />D. Volunteer Facilitators: Facilitators are the trained and certified volunteers who <br />conduct Project WET workshops and provide water education to teachers in their <br />local communities. There are currently over 100 facilitators within the state4 <br />Facilitators are often educators themselves or professionals in the field of water or <br />natural resources. These facilitators are also trained as facilitators of Projects <br />WILD and Learning Tree (PL T). <br />E. River Watch: This program, which is also implemented by CWN, will share its <br />extensive teacher database with Coordinator and Education Specialist to aid in <br />recruitment of new teachers. When, appropriate River Watch and Project WET <br />will coordinate combined trainings. <br />II. Major Partners: <br />A. Project WET USA Foundation: Will provide Project WET resources and <br />materials to the Colorado Project WET Coordinator for distribution. Facilitates <br />communication and collaboration 'between state Coordinators and offers advanced <br />training opportunities at annual Coordinators Conference. <br />B. Colorado Water Conservation Board (eWeR): CWCB is the major <br />contributor to Colorado Project WET, providing monetary support to sustain the <br />program.CWCB has also partnered with CWN to spearhead the Colorado Water <br />Education Task Force, and CWN provides assistance to all nine Basin <br />Roundtables in their non-consumptive needs assessments. CWCB will continue to <br />make connections with interested members of the water conservation community <br />so that Project WET may assist with education obligations outlined in water <br /> <br />Page 3 <br />
