<br />As you know, G-reatWestem Instntute's (GWI) mission is fto promote
<br />water conserva:tnon and wate'r use ef:ffD.~nency through educsti~n, policy
<br />and researclnq W ehave been fortueatte to work with the Office of Water
<br />Conservation and Drought Plannnng (OWeDP) in the past, bringing
<br />water conservation edue,atioD to hund.reds of appointed and elected
<br />officials, water planners ,and managers, and other mtelrtested citizens
<br />across the state su.pported generolJlsly by Office througln its water
<br />efficiency grant program.
<br />
<br />GWI is lookbng to continue its successes nn educatin'g Coloradc's citizenry
<br />by supporting Project WET over tine next t\vo years as it trains and
<br />provides K..12 teachers with content related. to water suppRy, 'Water use,
<br />water cOllsenratnon. a.nd general water issues in Colorado. To this point,
<br />GWI will pJrovfide casb funding for at least mo teacher training events up
<br />to $5,OOOe GWl[ will also provide vtIllunteer support to fa~nnntate teacher
<br />training efforts, develop cu,menlum and organize speakers and field trips
<br />donating 40 hOUIrs over the same ,en.cod of time, at a valtIle off $100 per
<br />hour, for aID. mdditional cost of $4,000. Therefore, GWI willl ClolIlate at total
<br />of $9,000 to the implementation of the Project WET water efficiency
<br />grant requ'estlJ
