Page 2 of:

19riculture, on the east slope and in the San Luis Valley.
There are also compacts on the La Plata and for the Animas-La Plata Project. which are subject to the
erms of the Colorado and Upper Colorado River Compacts as well.

'II also fax you some recent information on trans mountain diversions. Randy

-----Original Message-----
From: Watt, Joe [mailto:jwatt@Denyerpost.com]
Sent: Wednesday, October 22/20036:07 PM
To: Seaholm, Randy
Subject: RE: Water

thank you, randy. didn't mean to make you work late. tomorrow fine for compact information. and you still were going to send
latest 1 O-year average for diyersions to platte, arkansas and rio grande, correct? tomorrow fine on that, too.

-----Original Message-----
From: Seaholm, Randy [mailto:Randy.Seaholm@dwr.state.co.us]
Sent: Wednesday, October 22/20036:00 PM
To: Joe Watt (E-mail)
Subject: Water

Joe,

Since 2000, the SEO indicates that 9 new jurisdictional dams have been built. I will fax you the info they proYided.
In short, the additions are as follows

1. South Platte - 2new dams adding 9,801 AF
2. Arkansas - 3 new dams adding 781 AF
3. San Juan - 1 new dam adding 1,025 AF
4. Gunnison - 1 new dam adding 920 AF
5. Colorado - 2 new dams adding 14 AF

ObYiously there has been yery little new construction of any significance in the last almost 3-years. Thus, you can
probably use the existing storage yalues. I would highly recommend that "storage" be "Potential Storage" and
according to a representative sample of reservoir storage statewide done by the NRCS as of October 1.

1 . Reservoir Storage in the South Platte is 79% of Ayerage
2. Reservoir Storage in the Arkansas is 52% of Average
3. Reservoir storage in the Rio Grande is 35% of Ayerage
4. Reservoir storage in the San Juan\Dolores is 63% of Ayerage
5. Reservoir storage in the Gunnison is 71 % of Ayerage
6. Reservoir storage in the Colorado Mainstem is 93% of Ayerage
7. Reservoir storage in the Yampa\White is 102% of Average

Thus, you can see that conditions are still very dry for the most part and even in the South Platte which recovered
during the March.Blizzard drew harder on storage than normal.

I'll send compact info in the morning. Randy

! 0/23/2003
