<br />Short Term Water Lease <br />Through Board of Water Works of Pueblo <br /> <br />A.t the regular August meet- <br />ing of the Southeastern Colorado <br />\Yater Consen-ancy District <br />Board of Directors the Board ap- <br />proYed a lease of 1.300 acre-feet <br />of\yater from the Board of\Yater <br />\\-orks of Pueblo that had to be <br />moyed or used by early October <br />2004. The Board of\Yater \Yorks <br />of Pueblo wanted to yacate 6,100 <br />acre- feet of \\-ater to create star- <br />age space for the 2005 spring nm <br />off and for \Yinter \\-mer storage <br />at Clear Creek and T\\-in Lakes. <br />Besides the District. La Junta and <br />Fo\\-ler receiyed 758 acre-feet the <br />remaining -1..042 acre-feet \\-as <br />leased to Aurora. <br />The District receiyed requests <br />for a total of 11,7 61 acre-feet of <br />,yater. 9371 acre-feet for agri- <br />culmre and 2,390 for municipal <br />entities. <br />The Allocation Committee <br /> <br />met on September""'. 2004 and <br />determined that it \yould allocate <br />the water on the allocation priIl- <br />ciples of 51 percent to municipal <br />and 49 percent to agriculture. <br />Since the wa- <br />ter was first <br />use \\'ater. the <br />augmentatIon <br />groups \"ould <br />not receiye an Bessemer Ditch <br /> <br />allocation. See the attached tables <br />for allocation of the 1.300 acre- <br />feet of leased \yater. <br />The District paid the same <br />price of5'.00 per acre-foot that <br />the Board of\Yater \Yorks of <br />Pueblo originally paid for Fryin- <br />pan-Arkansas Project \';ater.
