Our organization's mission is to administer the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project. Tn performing our
mission, we fully embrace the importance of water conservation, water use efficiency and wise
water use in our community's efforts to manage our most precious water resources now and
into the future.
Our organization applauds the CWCB for developing, maintaining and administrating its water
conservation and water efficiency grant programs, and we will continue to show our support
for these important state programs into the future. In addition, we recognize the importance of
communications and technical assistance in helping to promote and support more meaningful
water conservation statewide, which is the underlying goal of the CWCB grant programs.
To help move water conservation to the next level, our organization fully supports the project
for an Executive Director being proposed by the Colorado WaterWise Council (CWWC) to the
Colorado Water Conservation Board. Pending the approval of the District's 2008 budget by
the Board of Directors, the District will provide 80 hours of staff time for the District's
Conservation Outreach Coordinator to assist CWWC in its endeavors. This support is
equivalent to $3,200.00. We strongly encourage the CWCB and the Office of Water
Conservation and Drought Planning to consider the merits of the CWWC grant application and
award the requested funds to this worthwhile and important program that will benefit water
managers, basin roundtable members and water conservation experts statewide.
