3 development of shortage criteria for Mexico, Colorado river system
4 augmentation opportunities, and protections for the Colorado river de;Ita.
5 (2) The moneys appropriated in subsection (1) ofthis section shall
6 remain available for the designated purposes until the project: is
7 completed.
8 SECTION 8. Colorado river water availability study -
9 continuation - appropriation. (1) In addition to any other
10 appropriation, there is hereby appropriated, out of any moneys in the
11 Colorado water conservation board construction fund nat. otherwise
12 appropriated, to the department of natural resources, for allocation to the
13 Colorado water conservation board, for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
14 2008, the sum of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000), or so much
15 thereof as may be necessary, for the board to continue the model
16 developmentphase oftheColorado waterneedsand alternatives analysis,
17 otherwise known as the Colorado river water availability study,
18 authorized in section 15 of Senate Bill 07-122. The board shall continue
19 to work in full consultation with, and the active involvement of, the ba;;in
20 roundtables and shall continue to consider current and potential future
21 in-basin consumptive and nonconsumptive needs. Further, it is expected
22 that the board will request additional funding in future years to undertake
23 the model implementation phase of the study and recommend whether
24 additional studies or phases of study should be undertaken.
25 (2) The amounts appropriated in this section are in addition to
26 amounts appropriated previously for the Colorado water needs acid
27 alternatives analysis. The moneys appropriated in subsection (1) of this
