Brock (619) 339-9417 <br /> <br />USSR Report Released Prematurely <br /> <br />San Diego, CA --Lastyear,Jhe u.s. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) released a <br />damaging report c~lIed,<Water Use Assessment of the Imperia/Irrigation District <br />(Jensen Report), agthored by Dr. Marvin E. Jensen. <br /> <br />"We, and others, ihterpretedthe report as being highly critical of irrigation-related <br />practices by 110 arlglrnp~rial Valley farmers," said Michael J. Clinton, 110 General <br />Manager, at the AS$QcUUion of California Water Agencies fall conference at the Town & <br />Country Hotel. "Atthattime, we cited some very serious technical flaws in the study and <br />protested becausetD.e Bureau bypassed the usual step of allowing our District staff or <br />the professional community to review the document before its release," Clinton said. <br /> <br />The 110 Board saidil'rOctober of 1995 that it would expose the inaccuracies of the <br />Jensen Report. <br /> <br />"First, we formed a staff group to examine the methodology and findings in the report. <br />II 0 staff submitted to USBR a detailed response of 60 pages with corrected data and <br />rebuttals to various points.
