<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />5.0 DISCUSSION OF PROTECTED WilDLIFE AND <br />SPECIES OF CONCERN <br /> <br />The Sef\'ice identified, in a letter dated ~ovember 24, 2003 (see Appendix B), six endangered, <br />four threatened, two candidate species and 22 species of concern that could exist within the <br />project area. Threatened or endangered species are listed as such under Section 7 of the <br />Endangered Species Act. Candidates are species for which the Service has sufficient information <br />on their biological status and potential threats to propose them as endangered or threatened, but <br />have yet to be formally listed.
