<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />The model results reponed in Section 3 were used to assess impacts to hydrology and habitat. <br />Effect on the fish and their critical habitat was assessed based on the abilitv to meet the flow <br />.- <br />recommendations . <br /> <br />4.4 Wildlife <br /> <br />Repons from the New Mexico Game and Fish Depanment (l\~GFD), Navajo Natural Heritage <br />Program C\:N!IP), and Biota Information System of New Mexico (BISO~1 were reviewed to <br />compile descriptions of sensitive wildlife in the project area. In addition, field surveys were <br />conducted on approximately 290 miles of the proposed pipeline alignments. The route was <br />walked in increments along the centerline and wildlife observations were made to both sides. <br />Binoculars and close visual inspections were used throughout the survey. All potential habitats <br />for threatened or endangered wildlife were examined. Funhermore, sandstone cliffs, large trees, <br />and utility strucmres within a quaner mile of the proposed route were visually checked for raptor <br />nests, perching, and roosting sites.
