Inflows into Lake Powell have remained relatively steady at about 10,000 cfs. Lake Powell
current reservoir elevation is now about 3690 feet with a live storage of 22.8 MAF. The
reservoir elevation will drop gradually to about 3682 feet by the end of December 1998.

During the month of September releases will average 16,500 cfs, with weekday and Saturday
hourly flows fluctuating between about 13,000 cfs and 21,000 cfs, and Sunday flows fluctuating
between 12,000 cfs and 16,000 cfs. Currently, we expect releases to drop slightly during October
and November to an average release of about 15,000 cfs.

Reclamation has concluded discussions for the preparation of the 1999 Annual Operating Plan
for the Colorado River System Reservoirs. We appreciate the comments and involvement of the
public in this process, and expect the signature and issuance of the AOP by the Secretary of the
Interior in late October 1998. Anyone desiring a copy of the AOP who is not on our mailing list
should send an email message to rpeterson@uc.usbr.gov
