The Refuge completed their work on September
9, when releases were increased to 1200 cfs. Releases will likely remain at or near 1200 cfs
through the autumn and winter periods.

This release level, combined with most probable inflow, will result in Fontenelle reaching a
minimum pool elevation of 6463.5 feet by about April 1, 1999. The reservoir will then be in
position to absorb next spring's snowmelt runoff.

FLAMING GORGE - Releases from Flaming Gorge are now at 2400 cfs. Releases were
reduced from 2900 cfs to 2400 cfs on Sunday August 9. Releases will likely be at 2400 cfs for
the remainder of the summer and through autumn.

On September 21 and 22, however, releases from Flaming Gorge will be reduced to 1600 cfs.
Releases are being reduced to this level to accommodate the State of Utah's annual tailwater
fishery assessment. Releases will be steady at 1600 cfs on both the 21st and 22nd. Two other
activities are planned to take advantage of these lower releases: (1). repairs will be
made on the boat ramp below the dam, and (2) researchers from Utah State University will be
conducting survey work on a debris fan at Wild Mountain Campground in Ladore Canyon.
