Water Supply Reserve Account - Grant Application Form
Form Revised May 2007

7. Please provide a brief narrative of any related or relevant previous studies.

The SMP is an analysis of non-consumptive water needs in Grand County, building upon information and
analysis developed in the Upper Colorado Study ("UPCO") performed by NWCCOG, Grand County, Denver
Water, Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District, Middle Park Water Conservancy District, Colorado
River Water Conservation District, and Summit County.

Please see electronic attachment entitled "GCSMPPhaseltechmemo 4 2507", which describes the methodology
used in Phase I of the SMP, particularly with regard to modeling. In addition, there is a description of how the
SMP will utilize The Nature Conservancy's "Indicators of Hydrologic Alteration" (IRA) approach to attempt to
restore the hydrologic regime of the system and provide for developing species-habitat-flow relations. There is
also a table detailing methods used to estimate flow requirements for different users, and a description of how
stream reaches will be selected for their attributes, data availability, and restoration needs.

Data analysis and evaluation is not yet complete for reporting on phase II of the SMP.

11
