exploratory randomized seeding experiment incorporating ground seeding can
also be found in this operations plan.

Initially activities will be prioritized as follows:
1. Experiments to target seeding effects within the prescribed target area
using ground based seeding with observations made to determine the trans-
port and dispersion of the ground released seeding material.
2. Experiments to determine seeding effects within the ,fixed target area
specifically at Kingvale and the downwind site to further refine and
improve the SCpp targeting model (GUIDE).
3. To survey the kinematic and microphysical characteristics of other
basins in northern California for their cloud seeding potential.
4. To determine the activity of AgI burned in solution at the -6 oc level
as this is the temperature at which ground released AgI will become active
in sufficient concentration to produce additional ice crystal concentra-
tions in time to fall within the target area.

As the field season progresses th~se priorities may be modified to assure each
one of these studies will be conducted at some point in the field season.

Seeding experiments (Activities 1 and 2) will be suspended when it appears
that seedi;lg could aggravate threatening weather situations. Detai 1s are
given in Chapter II.

The following sections of this operations plan will specifically detail the
procedures to be followed by all personnel in the operation of assigned equip-
ment and or duties.
