No.
Bill: Question: Is it not true that Counties are required to be at these
meetings? Is a county in violation of state law for not having someone
here?
Eric Hecox. "Required" is one way of reading statute; some counties will
not fill seats because they are so small; so State leaves that open... it does
not go away; this is different, as Jeff Co is not insigiuficant part of basin;
probably not a violation of state law but lots of good reasons to work with
colleagues in Jeff Coto have someone appointed.
Bill: need someone on Education Liaison committee:
Bert Weaver, John Stencil, Bob Streeter express interest and willingness;
Bert Weaver appointed.
Forrest Whitman: In our mountain county meeting we asked why would
Jeff Co do this. We intend to ask this question.
Fred Walker: Walt put forth lots of effort in committees and need to
recognize that he served with effort on these committees.
Jolui Stencil: Only one member on the education liaison?
Eric: Only one person as liaison; relevant to IBCC and public outreach.
Thus: Bert Weaver is liaison member
Phreatophyte Sub-Committee: Bob Streeter
Met today: Steve Miller with CWCB and Weld, Boulder and Larimer as
well as Yuma and Washington members; much information exchanged;
will be submitted to record; interest in counties to develop plan in
Tamarisk Coalition with support from CWCB to develop plan for control
of Russian Olive and Tamarisk; Yuma has big program to start this
summer on private land to eradicate Tamarisk; funding sources discussed;
Natural Resource Conservation Sources: looking for control plan in upper
counties and Republican Basin: anything we can contribute to Republican
basin would be usefiil.
Bruce Gerk: Good meeting; qualified people; speaking to the urgency of
the matter
Next meeting March 5:
Bill Jerke: Would it be to the advantage of the Roundtable to hear
specifically from Yuma as to their successes this conung summer. Would
be a good time to invite county experts. Private lands, reservoir
companies... need incentives to get all to participate.
• Lease/Fallowing Sub-Committee: Joe Frank: Met in January and in
February; presentation on Pritchard's study on survey to see interest in
lease/fallowing program: significant interest from ag conunuiuty;
discussed alternatives to permanent ag dry up; Regan Waskom had
