All rawinsondes will be tracked to the <br />300 mb level. Surface observations (temperature, wind speed and <br />direction, and current weather) will be taken and recorded for <br />each rawinsonde launch. Forms will be provided for documenting <br />each launch. <br /> <br />2. Eauipment Maintenance <br /> <br />A back-up rawinsonde unit is available to replace a particular <br />component if it fails. The malfunctioning equipment will be <br />repaired by the manufacturer, as necessary. <br /> <br />3. Rawinsonde Data processinq <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Immediately upon completion of the rawinsonde ascent, the <br />processed rawinsonde data will be transferred via modem from JVL <br />to the Sacramento Office. Original soundings collected should be <br />stored and labeled onto floppy disc. A software package on the <br />Sacramento PC will allow access to the soundings for execution of <br /> <br />21 <br />
