INTRODUCTION 1.1 Study Objectives The objective of the work summarized in this report was to prepare a feasibility report for improvement of the Town ofPaonia's Water Supply System. The feasibility report was prepared in accordance with the Colorado Water Conservation Board's (CWCB) guidelines for feasibility reports. 1.2 Scope of Work The scope of work summarized in this report includes the following tasks: 1.0 A kickoff meeting was held with representatives of the Town and the CWCB to identify study requirements and establish planning guidelines. 2.0 Historic and current water demands and water use trends were evaluated to estimate existing water demands. The existing demands and information from Delta County and other sources were used to forecast future water demands in the Town's service area in the years 2020 and 2030. 3.0 The Town's existing raw water supply system is described in the report ,md a firm yield for the Town's raw water system was estimated based on correlations from available data. 4.0 A comparison of the Town's ftrmyield and future demands was made to estimate the potential future water supply deficit the Town may encounter during a drought event. 5.0 A range of potential structural and non-structural water management alternatives to meet the Town's long-range water needs was identified and evaluated. 6.0 The alternatives and the discussion of a preferred alternative were presented at a Town Council meeting. Questions and input were received from the public regarding selection of a preferred alternative. 7.0 A feasibility analysis of the preferred alternative was prepared for review by the Town Council and the CWCB.
