INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />1.1 Study Objectives <br /> <br />The objective of the work summarized in this report was to prepare a feasibility report for <br />improvement of the Town ofPaonia's Water Supply System. The feasibility report was prepared <br />in accordance with the Colorado Water Conservation Board's (CWCB) guidelines for feasibility <br />reports. <br /> <br />1.2 Scope of Work <br /> <br />The scope of work summarized in this report includes the following tasks: <br /> <br />1.0 A kickoff meeting was held with representatives of the Town and the CWCB to <br />identify study requirements and establish planning guidelines. <br /> <br />2.0 Historic and current water demands and water use trends were evaluated to <br />estimate existing water demands. The existing demands and information from <br />Delta County and other sources were used to forecast future water demands in the <br />Town's service area in the years 2020 and 2030. <br /> <br />3.0 The Town's existing raw water supply system is described in the report ,md a firm <br />yield for the Town's raw water system was estimated based on correlations from <br />available data. <br /> <br />4.0 A comparison of the Town's ftrmyield and future demands was made to estimate <br />the potential future water supply deficit the Town may encounter during a drought <br />event. <br /> <br />5.0 A range of potential structural and non-structural water management alternatives <br />to meet the Town's long-range water needs was identified and evaluated. <br /> <br />6.0 The alternatives and the discussion of a preferred alternative were presented at a <br />Town Council meeting.
