Ioannides

1.

Name of Applicant(s) (Sponsor(s)):

BROOK FOREST WATER DISTRICT

Mailing Address:

P. O. Box 174

Everqreen, Colorado 80439

Telephone Number:'

(303) 674-9616

2.

Briefly describe the purpose, location and need for the project:

PURPOSE: The purpose of the project is to conduct a feasibility study of the
Brook Forest District Water Supply System and through upgrading of the existing
facilities or addition of new facilities to increase the water supply to the
district, enhance the water quality, and increase the efficiency and reliability
of the performance of the water delivery system.

LOCATION: The project is located within the legal boundaries of the Brook Forest
Water District near Evergreen, Colorado. Specifically, the location is in the
Cub Creek drainage basin with the majority of the property lying in Section 29 &
30, Township 5 South, Range 71 West; and Section 36, Township 5 South, Range 72
West, of the 6th Principal Meridian.

NEED: In recent years the Brook Forest Water District has faced a number of prob-
lems with its water supply system. The demand for water within the district has
increased over the years while the total water yield from the sources of water
supply has declined. A number of freezing problems'have caused difficulties and
hardships for the residents of the district. Since its inception, back in 1964,
the district has had no benefit of a master plan to guide the district in the
expansion of its water supply system. Stop gap measures have been taken in the
past to remedy some of these problems, however, over the years these measures
have proven not to be effective in solving the long range problems facing the
district.
