<br />CWCB Construction Fund Loan Application <br /> <br />4. Please provide a brief description of the owner's existing water supply facilities and describe <br />any existing operational or maintenance problems. Attach separate sheets if needed, and a map <br />of the service area. There is a lar~e diversion structure on the Rio Grande River and <br />approximately 9 miles of ditch that services 7660 acres. There are thirteen (13) check <br />structures that are used to deliver water to 31 different shareholders. The main diversion <br />is OK but the thirteen check structures are about 40 years old, made of wood and in <br />various states of decay. <br />5. General location of the project. (Please include county, and approximate dist,mce and direction <br />from nearest town, as well as legal description, if known.) This projected is located <br />approximately 3 miles west of Monte Vista, Colorado in Rio Grande County. The river <br />diversion is located at Section 21, T39N, R7E and the project ends in Section 36, T38N, <br />R7E. (See location map attached). <br /> <br />5" Please provide a brief narrative description of the proposed project including purpose, need, <br />facilities, type of water uses to be served and service area. Attach separate sheet, if needed. <br />The project involves replacin~ thirteen (13) wooden check structures with steel/concrete <br />check structures throu~hout the 9-mile ditch system.
