Proje~t location (include county): <br />-San Miguel County <br /> <br />-5 miles southeast of the Town of Norwood on Wrights Mesa. <br /> <br />5. Please provide a brief narrative description of the <br /> <br />proposed project inqluding purpose, need, facilities, types <br /> <br />of water uses to be served and service area: <br />The purpose of this project is to upgrade & expand the system. The <br />Norwood, Wrights Mesa water system provides domestic potable water <br />for the Town of Norwood and adjacent rural res~dents. The service <br />area includes the town of Norwood and the communities of Redvale <br />and Coventry, located about 10 miles to the west along High~ay 145. <br />The boundaries are loosely defined by Beaver Creek on the East, Oak <br />Hl~l un the 6~u~h, Nat~:ita Creek on the south and west, and San <br />Miguel River on the north and east. The existing water syst~m <br />consists of a water intake on the Gurly Ditch, and earthen raw water <br />storage reservoir, a water treament plant, two steel storage' tanks, <br />and piping and the distribution sytem, <br />Water use is as follows: l)Domestic use (residential, commercial,public <br />and institutional buildings},2)Irrigation use and stock watering. <br />3)Industrial uses for manufacturing. 4)System losses, including <br />operational usage, leakage, and wasteage. <br /> <br />The purpose and need directly correspond to the problems outlined <br />in question A-5 of this application. <br /> <br />A-3 <br /> <br />~}. <br />
