Mendez <br />Chairperson, Boulder County <br />Board of Commissioners <br />P,O, Box 471 <br />Boulder, CO 80306-0471 <br /> <br />Community: Boulder County, CO <br />Community No,: 080023 <br />Panel Affected: 08013C0270j' <br />Effective Date of MAR 2 J 2002 <br />This Revision: <br /> <br />102-I-A-C <br /> <br />Dear Me Mendez: <br /> <br />This responds to a request that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) revise the effective <br />Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report for Boulder County, <br />Colorado and Incorporated Areas, in accordance with Part 65 of the National Flood Insurance Program <br />(NFIP) regulations, In a letter dated November 28,200 1, Me David Hollingsworth, P.E., Storm <br />Drainage Engineer, Public Works Division, Department of Community Development, City of Long mont, <br />requested that FEMA revise the FIRM and FIS report to show the effects of a revised hydraulic analysis <br />that incorporated updated topographic information, a new regulatory flood way , and a proj ect affecting <br />both Dry Creek No, 1 and Clover Basin Tributary, The project consisted of realignment and <br />channelization along Dry Creek No, 1 from approximately 1,450 feet downstream to just downstream of <br />a private road (renamed Grandview Meadows Drive); construction of a new bicycle path bridge across <br />Dry Creek No, 1 approximately 800 feet downstream of Grandview Meadows Drive; replacement of an <br />existing culvert under the Grandview Meadows Drive crossing of Dry Creek No, 1 with an II-footby <br />1O-foot concrete box culvert and a 9-foot by 8-foot concrete box culvert; construction of a <br />flood-detention basin along Dry Creek No, 1 approximately 600 feet upstream of Grandview Meadows <br />Drive; and channelization along Clover Basin Tributary fromjust upstream to approximately 400 feet <br />upstream of its confluence with Dry Creek No, L <br /> <br />The area affected by this revision along Dry Creek No, 1 and Clover Basin Tributary is shown on <br />effective FIRM Panel 08013C0270 F dated June 2, 1995, as modified by a Letter of Map Revision <br />(LOMR) that was issued on June 19,1995 (Case No, 95-08-140P). This area is shown on the FIRM as a <br />Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), the area that would be inundated by the flood having a I-percent <br />chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood), designated Zone AE, where Base <br />Flood Elevations (BFEs) have been determined, According to the submitted data, portions of this area <br />were annexed by the City of Longmont The annexed areas included the southern half of Section 7 <br />(Township 2 North, Range 69 West); the northwestern quarter of Section 18 (Township 2 North, <br />Range 69 West); and the northeastern quarter of Section 13 (Township 2 North, Range 70 West), <br /> <br />All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with letters from <br />Me Hollingsworth, <br />
