Preliminary Findings

The City of Longmont has numerous water conservation efforts and resources already in
place for residential customers" Based on the analysis of water use characterization it is
expected that additional water savings could be ,realized by targeting small commercial and
industrial customers. The evaluation of conservation measures and programs will help to
identify the most cost effective approach for savings in these areas. However~ it will be
important to continue the existing residential programs that are providing value, in terms of
water savings. In addition there may be some areas where the City can improve data
collection and tracking such as additional meters for plant water and automatic meter
reading. Some of the improvements could possibly be addressed with the help of a Water
Efficiency Grant..

Scope Changes

There are no changes in the scope at this point. The application to the CWCB in June 2007
had a schedule that showed the draft plan being developed in December 2007. The actual
schedule is behind and the draft plan will be developed in January and into February 2008.

We appreciate the support of the CWCB in this effort to update the Water Conservation
Master PIan.
