SWSI Phase 2 Scope of Work
2. Technical Roundtables -where local interests (water providers, water users, local
governments, representatives of federal and state agencies, environmentalists,
recreationalists, and members of each basin, etc.) will meet and exchange ideas for
each technical area. The focus will primarily be on a consensus building process to
address technical issues and approaches in a statewide forum. A portion of the
meeting will also be devoted to obtaining information and comment from the
public.
3. Basin Roundtables -where local basin interests (water providers, water users,
local governments, representatives of federal and state agencies,
environmentalists, recreationalists, etc.) will meet to receive information from the
TRTs to discuss the issues associated with each basin. The focus will primarily be
on a consensus building process to address specific issues within each river basin.
A portion of the meeting will also be devoted to obtaining information and
comment from the public.
4. Colorado Water Conservation Board -meets every 2 months to discuss and
resolve water issues and to support water planning in Colorado. The CWCB has
representatives from each river basin as well as key state policymakers (i.e.,
Directors of Department of Natural Resources [DNR], CWCB, Agriculture,
Colorado Department of Wildlife [CDOW], State Engineer's Office [SEO], and the
Attorney General). The CWCB will review information from the TRTs, BRTs, and
public and provide input on the development of water supply options and
alternatives development and the strategies for implementation. The CWCB will
support the efforts of each TRT and BRT and also focus on identifying and
resolving potential conflicts among basin objectives and strategies. Opportunity
for TRT, BRT participant, and public input will be provided at each meeting.
5. CWCB Steering Committee -This committee will consist of four CWCB board
members, senior CWCB management and staff, and the Consultant. The focus of
this group will be on the detailed implementation and management of SWSI
Phase 2.
Information on the SWSI will be available during the project on the CWCB website
and through other communications media. Feedback from the public is encouraged
throughout the study period. More detailed and technical communication will occur
at the local basin level and at the TRTs.
