Ed Perlmutter <br />Michael Spira, Legislative Director <br />Tom Browning, Frank Eckhardt, Gary Herman, Greg Hertzke, David Howlett, Dan <br />McAuliffe, Rick McLoud, Vaughn Mc Williams, Mark Shively, Jeff Shoemaker, <br />Chatfield Reservoir Reallocation Coalition <br /> <br />The Chatfield delegation met with Representative Perlmutter outside of the House <br />Committee on Financial Services hearing room where he was expecting votes to occur. <br />Jeff Shoemaker opened with a short statement on the Chatfield project and thanked the <br />congressman for his support and help on the project. Jeff asked everyone to introduce <br />themselves and the organization they represent. <br /> <br />Dan McAuliffe and Tom Browning highlighted House and Senate action on their <br />respective FY08 Energy and Water Appropriations bills. The House bill marked up <br />$200,000 for the Chatfield FR/EIS and the Senate bill contained a $273,000 earmark for <br />the Chatfield FR/EIS. It was noted that a $400,000 ask is expected in FY09 for the <br />Chatfield FR/EIS. <br /> <br />Representative Perlmutter emphasized his support for Chatfield and his commitment to <br />the project. Tom clarified the status of the Chatfield FR/EIS and the schedule for <br />issuance of the ROD. <br /> <br />3:00 p.m. Meeting: Sen. Wayne Allard <br />Sean Conway, Chief of Staff, Mandi, McKinley, Legislative Assistant <br />Frank Eckhardt, Gary Herman, Greg Hertzke, David Howlett, Dan McAuliffe, Rick <br />McLoud, Mark Shively, Jeff Shoemaker, Chatfield Reservoir Reallocation Coalition <br /> <br />Jeff Shoemaker opened the discussion with a short background on Chatfield and with <br />self-introductions. Senator Allard welcomed everyone to his office and asked if State <br />Parks is supportive. Jeff answered that State Parks is supportive, but there are a number <br />of issues that have to be addressed. Senator Allard mentioned that ironically in the 1980s <br />people were complaining that Chatfield water releases were flooding their property. <br /> <br />Gary Herman noted that the South Platte River Task Force identified Chatfield water <br />storage as its number one recommendation. <br /> <br />Dan McAuliffe led the discussion. He highlighted House and Senate action on their <br />respective FY08 Energy and Water Appropriations bills. The House bill marked up <br />$200,000 for the Chatfield FR/EIS and the Senate bill contained a $273,000 earmark for <br />the Chatfield FR/EIS. He requested that the Senate's $273,000 mark be held when the <br />bills go to conference committee. It is expected that the FY09 Chatfield FR/EIS ask will <br />be for $400,000. <br /> <br />9 <br />
