made available to the participants travelling to Washington. David responded that
this will be incorporated into the schedule that is being prepared for the travel
participants and will be sent out in advance of the meeting. Dan asked if it would be
helpful to have a conference call before the trip. The schedule and meeting
information will be sent out in advance of the trip. It will be determined whether the
travel participants want a conference call in advance of the trip to go over the
information. Tracy noted that the participants will meet over dinner in Washington on
Sunday evening, June 17 in Washington to review the schedule and discussion
agenda.

Ronda Sandquist and Katie Fendel both raised concerns about how questions about
the ROD are asked.

Action Item
Capitol Representatives will send out schedule of Washington, DC meetings and
talking points.

TetraTech/FWS Meeting
Dave Geiger noted that a meeting was held on June 4 with Fish & Wildlife officials,
which was attended by USACE, TetraTech and selected upstream and downstream
users. Three key areas for environmental mitigation have been identified at this time:
Preble's meadow jumping mouse; wetlands; and migratory birds. Brad Buckner
commented that they talked about what conditions are at the high water mark when
water is only at that mark 15 percent of the time. However, FWS indicated that
mitigation would address the impact of the total pool elevation change for each
alternative without specific analysis of the rate and timing of the water level changes
for Prebles' habitat and vegetation below the .5,444-foot level. Katie asked whether
we're going to have to worry about mitigating the impact of say 500 acres; if so, we
may not want to do this.

Environmental and Recreational Subcommittees
Tracy suggested that in lieu of the July 10 Chatfield coordinating committee meeting
we have the next coordinating committee meeting on August 7. Instead we would
hold four subcommittee meetings - two environmental and two recreational. Tracy
said he will send out emails for the first subcommittee meeting, which will be a joint
meeting of environmental and recreational. It will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00
p.m. on Wednesday, June 13 in the 4th floor conference room of the Colorado
Foundation for Environmental Education (1580 Logan Street). This first combined
meeting of the two subcommittees will be used to: (1) develop the identity of each
subcommittee, (2) identifY issues to be addressed by each subcommittee, and (3) list
action items to share with/address with TetraTech/USACE team.

Tracy reminded everyone that the next TetraTech meeting will be held on June 20.

EIS Chapter 2
Tracy noted that several people have been working on reviewing the draft Chapter 2
of the EIS. Bill Ruzzo stated that he wants to make certain that Denver Botanic
Gardens is documented as an upstream user. Dave Geiger asked if we can look at the
other chapters. Dan stated that CWCB could work through the Corps to distribute the
other chapters for review.

4
