- 3 -

o Tetra Tech has completed much of Chapter 2 and will incorporate the additional information
necessary based on responses to the request noted above. The discussion of alternatives is
iterative and Chapter 2 will continue to evolve as the impact analysis (Chapter 4) is developed
and will not be finalized until late in the process. A preliminary version of Chapter 2 should be
available for review by the cooperating agencies sometime in early May.
o US Fish and Wildlife Coordination - Pete Plage provided some clarification as to the
consultation process and contacts for the Prebles meadow jumping mouse (Pete) and the
depletions issue (Din Anderson). These are separate issues that will need to be addressed as the
process moves forward. The Corps and Tetra Tech will continue to work with the Fish and
Wildlife Service to keep these processes moving.

Environmental Restoration
Tracy Bouvette is working with the Downstream Water Users Group, the City and County of Denver, Denver
Water and the Greenway Foundation. There is a fact sheet about this effort attached. Their goal is to build the
coalition and support for environmental restoration benefits from strategic releases of Chatfield Reservoir
Water. Key issues are:
. Tracy Bouvette and representatives of Western Mutual Ditch Company, Central Colorado Water
Conservancy District, Denver Water and the City and County of Denver are going to Washington D.C.
shortly after this meeting to meet with Colorado's Congressional Delegation.
. Water Users asked if letters of support were needed and if this effort would also discuss the current
federal budget situation. Letters of support aren't needed right now and the budget issues were high on
the priority list of topics to discuss with Colorado's Congressional Representatives.
. This consortium has also spent time with meeting with key officials at the Corps District, Division and
Head Quarters levels. Current Corps criteria make environmental restoration in urban corridors
difficult. This is a policy level discussion right now. The Environmental Restoration Group will be
planning for a South Platte River tour for Congressional representatives at some point this year.

Recreation Impact Study Phase II (Parks)
Brad Buckner gave brief update about the progress on this study that is contracted with EDA W. Water Users
requested that as this project develops, EDA W be invited to come to a project meeting and provide an update to
the group.

Next Meetin2: Date

Date:
Time:
Location:

April 26, 2006
lOAM - 12 PM
Tetra Tech Conference Room (Lakewood, Colorado)

Flood Protection .
