consequence by a reallocation, it should still be OK for an
actual reallocation to move forward. If the reallocation
condition creates significant additional risk, a fix would be
required prior to allowing a reallocation to occur.
Obtaining the approximate $100,000 of Federal funds for
the evaluation in FY 08 and not further delaying the
reallocation process is a great concern. If sufficient Federal
funding is not available in FY08 the sponsor may want to
consider doing the evaluation as a cost-shared activity
within the current study. Also, the sponsor will be advised
that section 1203 ofWRDA1986 requires that costs
incurred in modifications for dam safety assurance shall be
recovered. Fifteen percent of the cost of the modification is
to be assigned to project purposes in accordance with the
cost allocation in effect for the project at the tirne the
modification work is initiated, another good reason to
determine seismic stability risk, with and without
reallocation, as early as possible.

12:00 p.m. Lunch
TBD

1:30 p.m. Office of Rep.
