<br />- 3 - <br /> <br />Note: For the Cherry Creek Dam Safety Study, the NWS performed an independent <br />peer review for the Antecedent Flood condition and recommended a new value of <br />32% of the PMF for Cherry Creek Dam and Reservoir Dam Safety Study. <br /> <br />The Corps are considering two approaches for the restudy of the Antecedent Flood <br />Study - 1) Analysis of the Historical Precipitation and 2) Analysis of the Historical <br />Stream flow. The Study will extend both data sets for a 20,000-year projection. <br /> <br />The study completion schedule is: <br />. Peer review within the Corps on July 31,2005 <br />. Final answer to the Chatfield Water Users and Interest Parties on <br />September 30,2005 <br /> <br />6. Presentation on the Environment Impact Statement (EIS) Scoping Comments <br />on Concerns <br />Summer Adamietz - Tetra Tech - RMC presented a briefing memorandum entitled" <br />Chatfield Reservoir Storage Reallocation Project - Scoping Comments Summary <br />dated April 26,2005" - See Attachment No.4. The Corps received about 200 <br />comments from the public scoping meetings conducted on October 26th and 2ih, <br />2004 and the agency scoping meeting on February 10th, 2005. A Water Quality <br />investigation will be included in the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). A major <br />study concern to be considered in the EIS is the pool elevation fluctuations. Tetra <br />Tech is tasked with evaluating the "Positive" and "Negative" impacts of an <br />enlargement of the Chatfield Water Conservation Pool. <br /> <br />7. Review of the Corps' Proposed Amendment to the Water Resource Act of 2005 <br />adding "Environmental Restoration" to the Chatfield Reallocation Study <br />Ralph Roza, Chief, Corps of Engineers Planning Branch, Omaha District made a <br />presentation regarding the opportunities for Corps Environmental Restoration <br />funding for any reallocated storage space. An amendment is being proposed to <br />amend the existing study authority. Ralph did not provide the study details for the <br />inclusion of this additional task. In the May 1, 2005 Schedule and Cost, a <br />placeholder has been added to the study activity. The Corps presented no study <br />details or impacts. The Corps did propose and offer to provide a brief letter <br />regarding this new task in 30 days, which hopefully will be available to the CWCB by <br />May 30th, 2005. It was the consensus of the meeting participants that the benefits <br />should be considered at the next general meeting, which is scheduled for June 15th, <br />2005. <br /> <br />8.
