Johnny Darter <br /> <br />Cumulative Effects <br /> <br />Evaluate Denver Water's proposal for the Chatfield Reservoir pump station (as a potential <br />future baseline condition) <br /> <br />Economics <br />Address economic impacts to of Colorado State Parks and park's concession operations <br />Address impacts on area parks if Chatfield reduces recreation services <br /> <br />Mitigation - Sample of mitigation suggestions <br />Riparian Habitat and Wildlife <br />· Douglas County desires to be included in any discussions regarding replacement of <br />wetlands and riparian areas along the reservoir, Plum Creek, and the South Platte, as a <br />result of the 5444' alternative. <br />· As part of the mitigation for impacts to riparian habitat and wildlife corridors, <br />Douglas County proposes a tree/shrub corridor on the south side pf Chatfield State <br />Park, between Plum Creek and the South Platte. <br />· Denver Botanical Gardens (DBG) would like to work with the Corps to identify <br />mitigation areas. <br />· In addition to wetland mitigation, other types of vegetative plantings, including trees, <br />shrubs, grasses and forbs should be considered. <br />· Mitigating the loss ofthis habitat eould include the conservation of buffer properties <br />identified by the Chatfield Basin Conservation Network, which has conducted a <br />habitat analysis of several surrounding areas. <br />Wildlife <br />· Mitigation measures and conservation of tributary streams (Willow Creek) and <br />surrounding upland habitat, could be vital to the perpetuation of this population of <br />Preble's. <br />Recreation <br />· Mitigation for fluctuation could include a website or phone number to call 2-4 weeks <br />ahead oftime to give warnings about high run-off coming into the reservoir and <br />drawdowns. <br /> <br />Noxious Weeds <br />Need a Noxious weed plan in plaee beeause of the pool elevation fluetuations <br /> <br />Pool Elevation Fluctuation <br />Fluctuation creating a wider beach area without vegetation which could have the following <br />negative impacts: <br />. Spread of noxious weeds, specifically tamarisk; <br />.
