Spring Outlook - There were early March anomalies in the Pacific Ocean that disappeared in <br />April. <br />. Warm conditions in the northern mid-Pacific fuel the spring storm track. <br />. This week weather outlook - Colorado storm system with precipitation and moist easterly <br />winds. <br />. Stormy, cool and unstable weather conditions for the next 3 weeks. May heat wave is expected <br />to be May 12-17 and 19 - 24th. Return to storms late May to early June. Wet July expected. <br />. Flooding is likely in the Blue and Eagle River Basins. <br />. Flash flood Forecast - Monsoons in SW mountains in July - August. Front Range flash floods <br />expected in June. <br />. Severe Thunderstorms - Eastern plains should see some thunderstorms throughout June. <br />. Monsoon - The monsoon is expected to return early this week. It should arrive in Colorado by <br />the first or second week of July, which will add to the storminess statewide. <br /> <br />Federal/State/Local Pro2rams <br />Kevin Houck, Section Engineer, CWCB Flood Protection Program - <br />. Kevin referred to the Colorado River Basin SNODAS and SNOTEL Snow Water Equivalent <br />handout dated May 1,2006 and discussed the listed percentages of Snow Water Equivalent <br />(SWE) throughout Colorado. Sites of interest are: Middle Fork Camp @ 123%, Fremont Pass @ <br />107%, Hoosier Pass @ 104%, Copper Mtn. @ 104%, Loveland Basin @ 106%, Berthoud <br />Summit @ 103%, Tower@ 106%. <br />Jonathan Comyn, Summit County Emergency Management <br />. The County is working with the communities to prepare for the possibility of high runoff <br />flooding. Some communities are more prepared than others, but the Emergency Management <br />team is staying on top of the situation and doing everything that they can to be prepared. <br /> <br />Next Meetin2 Date <br />.
