Republican: will pull out from list who is on Roundtable on Republican ...any one else,
Bn~ce, Tom Iseman...
Hecox: Quarterly support for roundtables with technical help. These groups will give
feedback to the roundtables.
Harold: Deadline for refinements...?
Rhonda and Dick and Eric: present draft of all of these at next technical meeting,
December or January.
Hecox :Non-consumptive work moving forward also; first meeting was on August 3 1,
first step for this group was to look at info that was compiled in SWASI Phase II to see if
there is additional data that the group would like mapped.
Rhonda: Lists available; anything missing? Next meeting will discuss priorities.
Fred Wallcer: presentation this afternoon was similar to Dick's but at higher level.
Eric Wilkinson: IBCC report: Met today on Sept 11 for the entire day; agenda: discussion
re: Colorado River Compact water availability study that was authorized under the last
CWBC projects bill; this is third meeting in discussing the scope of work; divided into
two phases: phase L look at existing uses-historic hydrology and paleo-hydrology to see
yield of Colorado river; this will be finished in one year; conconutantly, they are
wrapping up the consumptive and nonconsumptive uses and incorporate needs
assessment within context of water availability; there will be an interim report that will
come out before starting Phase II; modifications, thus, are good. Concern re: changing
hydrology and looking at water shed yields-some of these basins are dramatically
affected by insect infestations temporarily; this will be incorporated into the study. Focus
is on speed of wrapping up the study, right now looking at 2010; IBCC wants to begin
discussion after Phase I on fiiture solution scenarios without having the answers to actual
water availability; have discussed here on how a call on the Colorado River will be
administered; there will be a line item proposed for the 2008 legislative session to fund
alternatives to the legal adnunistrations from AGs office; opines that this needs to parallel
this other study. We understand the risk of over allocating our compact; need this info so
this will be included in future allocation.
Presentation by education and outreach group: website has been launched; have built a
robust website; links to every basin roundtable; www.ibcc.state.co.us
Education committee has about 20 scholarships to ag sunullit that is in December 13, 14;
if interested, get in touch with education committee, will facilitate scholarship.
Education committee is planning town hall meetings around state; will do this on pilot
basis-four around state.
10
