A map of the Valley was discussed showing the wells and the level of development since <br />1927-1938; <br />Unconfined Aquifer accounting sheet prepared by Allen Davey. <br />Non-Consumptive Use Committee -Status Report <br />Rio was not present <br />Consumptive Use Committee Status Report -Mike Gibson <br />Meeting to be scheduled sometime in October to discuss Rio Grande Roundtables RDC. <br />Consumptive Use appears to be higher in Alamosa per capita versus other areas in the State. <br />Report of IBCC Representatives <br />Colorado River Study -Water Availability Study - CWCB Study funded. Scope of Work was <br />presented and approved. Front range municipality users depend on the Colorado River and <br />Trans Basin diversions. The Maybell Pump Back Project and the Arron Million Pipeline Project <br />were presented. Discussion about Town Hall Meetings around the State to present water <br />Issues and water projects for public comment are being developed. <br />Rio Grande Headwaters Restoration Project -Overview -Mike Gibson <br />Mission Statement: To restore and conserve the historical functions and vitality of the Rio <br />Grande in Colorado for improved water quality, agricultural water use, riparian health, wildlife <br />and aquatic species habitat, recreation, and community safety while meeting the requirements <br />of the Rio Grande Compact. <br />The Study was funded by the Colorado Water Conservation Board. Mike further reviewed and <br />commented on the main points of the Study which include the following: <br />Stakeholder provided input -Overview <br />Study objectives: Current river conditions, Project criteria, Local planning issues, Bank erosion, <br />Diversion structure inventory <br />Riparian Health -vegetation <br />Wildlife -Fisheries <br />Ranked Projects -Policies identified <br />Tool Box <br />Floodplain Issues <br />Riparian Stabilization -water quality <br />There was much discussion about the restoration project and its current status. <br />It was decided to hold the next meeting on October 9, 2007 at Adams State College, 2:00 <br />- 5:00 PM <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 pm. <br />Travis Smith, Recorder ProTem <br />Approved: , 2007 <br />Page 2 of 2 RGBRT Minutes <br />September 11, 2007 <br />
