Steve Vandiver: I do not understand how climate change will impact priority system.
Harris Sherman: We are going to launch this study now.
Eric Wilkinson: Still concerned about the timeline. I want Phase 1 done at end of 2008 and
Phase 2 done June 2009.
Eric Hecox: Did not move end date on Phase 2, which is 2010.
Eric Wilkinson: Do not agree.
Eric Hecox: Scoping of Phase 2 will start.
Harris Sherman: Can we have a few IBCC members work with Eric Hecox on the timeline
issue?
John Porter: Who thinks this study is going to give an answer?
Melinda Kassen: It is the opposite if study shows no water, there will be no projects.
Alan Hamel: The sooner the state can complete this study and the curtailment study, the better
this can interface with providers making long range plans.
Bill Tr•ampe: I am personally of the opinion that we should move forward. The Gunnison
roundtable needs an adequate forum to interact.
Jeris Danielson: Is it a resource issue for the schedule?
Ef•ic Hecox: No, it is a public and roundtable issue. Folks should become familiar with DSS.
Melinda Kassen: It is unrealistic to think roundtable members will link to the CDSS.
Harris Sherman: Get in touch with Eric Hecox to tighten up schedule.
Jim Isgaf°: Number one water right on Colorado River is the compact. What will this study
really show? We have become more proactive then to wait for the day when we do an
allocation. Condition decrees based on same availability. Legislation this year may be the need
to put people on notice and determine what is the body to determine the appropriate criteria to
address concerns over compact call (CWCB, IBCC, SEO, Legislature). How are we going to use
the information from Supply Availability Study`?
Randy Seaholm: Updated the IBCC on the Colorado Compact Negotiations. BOR is making
decision mid-November.
Colorado Water Conservation Board
Flood Protection • Water Project Planning and Finance • Stream and Lake Protection
Water Supply Protection • Conservation and Drought Planning • Intrastate Water Planning
