I
[
I
]

Water Supply Reserve Account - Grant Application !Form
Form Revised May 2007 I

6. Water Availability and Sustainabi1ity - this information is needed to assess the viability and effectiveness of
the water project or activity. Please provide a description of each water supply source to be utilized for, or the
water body to be affected by, the water activity. For water supply sources being utilized, describe its location,
yield, extent of development, and water right status. For water bodies being affected, describe its location,
extent of development, and the expected effect of the water activity on the water body, in either case, the
analysis should take into consideration a reasonable range of hydrologic variation.

The purpose of the project is to better quantify the amount of water available in the Upper Big Sandy alluvium. The
project will estimate the amount of water that is consumed or leaves the Basin annually, and the amount of the water
which is recharged to the Basin annually in order to make predictions regarding the amount of the alluvial water that
can be sustainab1y used.

7. Please provide a brief narrative of any related or relevant previous studies.

Upper Big Sandy Designated Ground Water Basin Phase 4 Analysis - The analysis, conducted by
Martin and Wood Water Consultants, included review of previous studies and provided the District with
a plan to move forward on the Water Balance project. Previous work conducted specifically for the
Upper Big Sandy Ground Water Management District included data gathering and initial assessments of
the available water by the consulting firm ASCG, Incorporated.

8.
