Water Supply Reserve Account ? Grant Application Form <br />Form Revised May 2007 <br />_______________________________________ <br />In-kind Funding Provided by CSU <br /> ? The AES provides an ongoing budget from state and federal appropriated <br />funds for salaries and operations at the Arkansas Valley Research Center (CSU AVRC). The following are being <br />provided at no cost to this project: <br />1.Approximately 20 acres were permanently dedicated to the lysimeter installations (about 20% of total <br />tillable land available). <br />2.Irrigation water and annual assessment. <br />3.Staff time for tillage, planting, managing, and harvesting area adjacent to lysimeters. <br />4.Equipment needed for crop production. <br />5.Fertilizer, seed, and agri-chemicals used for crop production <br />The annual value of in-kind contributions from the AES at AVRC, assuming that 10% of Center efforts are <br />directed to the lysimeter activities, is: <br /> CSU Contribution <br />Salaries and Wages ? Bartolo, Berrada, Tanabe $25,000 <br />Operating supplies and expenses $11,000 <br />Waived indirect cost ? 26% of direct cost $9,360 <br />Total Costs $45,360 <br />It is important to note that the above CSU contribution is required annually in addition to the $126,000 listed <br />in Appendix 1 for salary and operating expenses of the lysimeters and weather station network. In addition, <br />the AES has provided $8,000 from salary savings in FY08 for direct operating support to this project as <br />bridge funding until permanent funding is sercured. <br />Other Funding Obtained <br /> ? The AES received a two-year grant from the Colorado Water Resources Institute in <br />2007 for $45,000 for a two year project.
