As Phase II activities are integral to the Colorado River Water Availability Study and
their timely conclusion (water availability results) of high importance to the Basin
Roundtables and IBCC, the following sch edule is proposed for Phase II primary
components.

Phase II Scoping Refinement – Task 1 w/IBCC October, 2008
w/BRT November , 2008
Initiation of Phase II Technical Activities - January, 2009
Completion of Phase II Technical Activities - July, 201 0

It is expected that the contractor procured for Phase I would continue (without further
procurement processes ) for Phase II.

PHASE I BUDGET

The primary cost components of the Phase I Study are fees and expenses from
consultants/ contractors to be hir ed to help 1) manage the study, 2) perform the technical
activities, 3) prepare for and participate in interaction with IBCC and BRTs. Fees and
expenses for contractors for Phase I will be negotiated as part of the contractor
procurement process. Prior t o that contracting process, it is believed that the costs of
Phase I may approach $ 1,000,000. As this is greater than the $500,000 authorized under
Senate Bill 07 - 122, additional funding sources will be sought. Though not scoped in this
document, an ini tial estimate of consultant/contractor costs for Phase II (not including
Phase I) is $ 1,000,000 to $ 2,000,000.
Colorado River Water Availability Study Scope 16 October 1 9 , 2007
