CDIVI

Castle Pines North Metropolitan District
Application for Water Efficiency Grant

. Irrigation times can be specified for each irrigation zone to ensure that irrigation
would not occur during daylight hours to minimize evaporation losses during
irrigation. Also, the tinting of irrigation in different zones can be optimized to use
the maximum amount of water available at a given time. This ultimately shortens
the irrigation window and can help prevent the soaking of turf just prior to high
usage.

3.3 Conservation Plan and Water Savings

The proposed Irrigation Management System would optimize irrigation rates and is
thereby expected to provide water savings. This would assist the District in meeting
its targeted water savings goal of 175 to 220 AFY by 2014, as outlined in Conservation
Goal #1 of the District's Water Conservation Plan. Also, Conservation Goal #3
specifically calls for the monitoring of District irrigation on parks and open space4
This irrigation management system would provide a detailed set of monitoring data
for each irrigation zone.

4.0 Scope of Work

This scope of work provides a general description of the project and Qutlitles tlle
major tasks, roles, and responsibilities of each party involved and the deliverables.
The anticipated schedule and project budget for each of these tasks is provided in
Section 5.0 and 6.0, respectively.

4.1 Project Overview-

The District plans to initially install the Irrigation Management System at the
following six District irrigated parks:

. RetreatPark
. South Open Space Park
. North Open Space Park
. Upper Coyote Ridge Park
. Lower Coyote 'Ridge Park
. Daniels Gate Park

Figure 4 shows the location of these parks within the District service area as well as
the numb.er of irrigated acres at each park. When completed, the Irrigation
Management Program would be used to control irrigation for approximately half of
the District1s irrigated landscaping area"

10

C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\.8LACKCA\nESKTOP\CPNGRAtmWATER EFFICIENCY GRANi PROGRAM APPL1CATroN.DOC
