Eric Hecox presented IBCC's current roles in the different components of the needs assessment.
Asked IBCC to tlui~lc about these roles.
Harris,Sherma~: I would like feedback now if anyone is not comfortable with this approach.
.Ieris Dar~ielsos~: It is vital that IBCC does this.
Steve L'andiver: This is our original charge.
Ray Wright: The piece I have felt is lacking is cross basin understanding. I want to use this
body to gain a greater understanding of all basins in the state. This group needs to gain an in-
depth understanding.
Bill TranzBe: I would agree with Ray to some extent. We need to have a dialogue with each
basin. We need to have a discussion about key issues for each basin roundtable.
Eric Hecox: The 4th component of Needs Assessment is water supply solutions. We have
WSRA and provider solutions. There are also some multi-basin solutions: River District,
Denver, Million, Flaming Gorge, Northern-Yampa pump back. We have had a few joint round
table meetings. The West Slope met together, the Front Range will meet in November, and the
leadership of the Yampa/Wlute and South Platte met.
RickBro~~~sz SWSI 2 will not provide a comprehensive analysis on solutions, it stopped short of
this.
Ray Wright: I want to put in a pitch for Rio Grande Initiative, which is a conservation easement
approach. Forced us to look at if it is meeting an identified need. Will it help in preventing a
gap from happening? Unintended consequences of an action can take you backwards.
Rick Browfz: By loolang at Non-consumptive and ConsLUnptive concurrently you can craft a
solution.
Ray Wright: The riparian zone could impact the Compact Water.
,Ieris Darrielsos~: The IBCC should look at various proposals and plus/minus.
Harris S'herh~an: Rick, do you have this as a CWCB initiative?
Rick Bro~~~sz CWCB does have some resources to work on solutions. Can use IBCC as an
advisory group.
.Ieris Danielsof~~: The CWCB should do this.
